Life Makeover is an online dress-up game with a gacha aspect. The game came out globally in May of 2023 and is developed by Archosaur Games. The name of the fanlisting "In the Name of Brilliance" is a direct translation of the Chinese name for the game - 以闪亮之名. I admit, Life Makeover does not sound nearly as cool!

Features

Character Customization:
What stands out about Life Makeover compared to it's competitors, is the unlimited character creation. You can keep editing your character's physical appearance for free and whenever you want, and you can have multiple characters to choose from. You are not confined to a single avatar with set facial features.
Wardrobe:
Aside from the "genetic" customization, the wardrobe customization options are also extensive, as each item comes with dye slots that allow you to change the colors of different parts of the piece. You can also customize the positions and sizes of specific accessories, which allows for a lot of creativity.
Expanding your wardrobe with new items is done through events and story quests - which are free, and the gacha system which requires money of course.
Otome:
There is a small otome aspect to the game as well, through the ally card system, where you can collect cards of different characters and read their short stories - and most importantly enjoy the card art.
Photo Studio:
Lastly the game has a wonderful photo studio feature that allows you to take 4k screenshots even if your device is not capable of it. You can do some simple image editing ingame which allows everyone to take wonderful pictures!

My experience with the game

I started playing Life Makover in November 2023, so a few months after it's global release. I highly value good character customization in games, and the fashion this game offers appeals to me. I have been hooked from day one, and my enjoyment is unrelenting - despite my dislike for gacha games and mechanics. As of writing this, it has been exactly 2 years since I started playing, and my love for the game is only getting higher!
